This painting concerns homosexual marriage, and the majority American view that homosexuals should not have the same rights as heterosexuals regarding marriage. When we were younger, we made pinky swears, and these pinky swears held little weight when it came time to keeping them. The pinky swear in the painting represents that lackadaisical, typically uneducated, and narrow-minded view of those that are opposed to gay marriage. It is a strong belief of mine that all humans should have equal rights when it comes down to the basic and fundamental necessity of love.
